Just released, Otto Rangelstower's Official Letter of Welcome to Feast Fest

A hearty hello to all sojourning at

Feast Fest this year, and welcome to

this one of a kind event. As the president

of the CDP of Marina del Rey, it is my

greatest pleasure to have my wonderful

little community host such a spectacular

event. Marina del Rey has played host

for 14 of the 15 previous Feast Fests, using

the elegant Marina del Rey Beachview Resort as the event’s backdrop. From humble beginnings in 1995 to the multimillion dollar event it is today, Feast Fest has helped revolutionize Marina del Rey on a monumental scale. Many positive changes in the Marina have been made, largely in part due to Feast Fest. My name is Ottawa, or, as I am most often called, Otto Rangelstower, and I am the president of the council of this CDP. CDP stands for “census designated place,” meaning that, although Marina del Rey is not a city of its own—it is land owned by Los Angeles County—its residents are recognized separately by the U.S. Census. As holder of the highest office in the Marina, it is my job to oversee the development, modernization, and ever growing influx of visitors and residents to this charming harbor town. With the ongoing growth of popularity here in Marina del Rey, my council hopes to incorporate Marina del Rey—make it into a city of its own—within the next ten to twenty years.

At the time of writing, I have just been reelected to this honored position, on Tuesday, October 19. My first two year 2009-2011 term being almost up, on January 20 I will take on a second term watching over this humble and breathtaking community. I hope that, with my presence as the main governing leader of the Marina, I can encourage all of the residents of this storied CDP to give every visitor to Feast Fest a warm welcome. Should this be your first time visiting Marina del Rey, take some time during your stay to explore the local scenery. You will find in a heartbeat why thousands of boatowners choose to anchor here—Marina del Rey is home of the largest man made sailboat and yacht harbor in the world, with thousands of boats resting happily in the harbor’s calm waters. Let me say right here, dining on the best Thanksgiving cuisine in the world, coupled with an impeccable view of our proud, glistening harbor, is a marriage made in heaven, and you will experience while visiting Feast Fest a profound culinary truth—what you eat is enhanced so much further by the beauty of where you eat.
