-In an action that seems something like a trade for the first time in FF history, the New York City Thanksgiving Contest broke the contract of Adam McNeese and offered to him to Feast Fest as a way of extending an olive branch to Feast Fest after FF chef Hillary Wilkin abruptly left the event to become the Head Chef of the NYCTC. McNeese had been working to advance from the smaller NYCTC up to Feast Fest, his agent said.
Details of the deal were being awaited Monday night.

Reaction to Selection of Bergen

-Martin Bergen, a high-tiered office worker and Executive Board member, was promoted Sunday to the office of Executive Assistant, the first person to be appointed to that third slot. "With so much hierarchical responsibility, we felt like we had to create an additional Executive Assistant's position," said Executive Manager William Vanderbilt. Still, the two Executive Assistants existing currently are tiered, and Bergen is likely to wield less influence than Vanderbilt's primary assistant, Arthur Ayeiy, and his secondary assistant, Beryl Shady. "Mr. Bergen's standing on the Executive Board made him a sterling pick for this new position," Vanderbilt said. It was also announced Sunday that Organization Senate member Mikael Mivsoekvaev would replace Bergen on the Executive Board; it was not yet known who would replace Mivsoekvaev.
"I'm thrilled to be taking on this new position within the event's hierarchy," Bergen said.

- Arthur Ayeiy called Bergen a "talented, wheeling-dealing EB member who has helped this event benefit in areas of advertising, exconomics, and scouting." Ayeiy said he was "ardently looking forward" to working with Bergen.
- Beryl Shady called Bergen "an honest, grindstone hard worker who always knows what's in the best interests of the event."
- Jim Dall said that "as Head Scouter, I know that Bergen's abilities in the field of scouting are admirable, and I will be elated to welcome him to the hierarchy." Dall admitted that there had been some discord between his scouters and the Vandy-Ayeiy-Shady hierarchy recently, and he said that "Bergen's former position as a scouter should hopefully help smooth those relations out."
- Co-Head Chef Jim McAllister called Bergen "a masterful member of our EB who works tirelessly and who deserves this promotion."
- Head Sous-Chef Lynn Avi tweeted, "congrats to Marty Bergen on becoming new #FeastFest executive assistant."
The only discomfort about the choice seemed to come from the always vocal Patrick Kermell, who said he thought Bergen would turn the neutral executive hierarchy in favor of the scouters.
